What Fiona Brings to the Work
Fiona's experiences in early childhood special education programs guide her advocacy and implementation of inclusive practices for special and general education students. Ensuring that all students are able to thrive in ways that reflect their unique strengths is at the forefront of her work.
Experience
Fiona currently holds a teaching position at the University of Washington’s Experimental Education Unit, working as an early childhood special education teacher in an inclusive classroom. Previously, Fiona worked for Seattle Public Schools supporting their inclusive preschool programs.
Fiona’s focus from early on in her career has been to build a sense of belonging for all members of school communities. She focuses on the joys of collaboration and problem solving so that students, educators, and administrators are supported.
In her work with Abeo, Fiona leverages her knowledge and experience in the UTK world to design and facilitate professional learning for UTK leaders and educators. She brings a fresh perspective grounded in exploration and innovation in diverse urban school settings.
